Debra Buxengard

I am a self-taught mosaic artist who began doing mosaic art in 2016. I primarily work with stained glass, ceramics, jewelry, and beads as my tesserae. I create my mosaic art using new and gently used cupboard doors, uniquely discovered items, vintage windows, shaped wooden pieces and crosses as my substrate.

My inspiration for my mosaic art comes from traveling, gardening, wildlife, and nature as well as everyday life and adventures. I enjoy seeing how people interact with my mosaic art as they view my artwork for the first time. I truly believe my art is a “Gift from God” and my way of sharing that gift is to try and add a small cross somewhere into the design of the piece.

In January 2022, I joined the MN Mosaic Guild. I look forward to broadening my knowledge and skills from all the members of the guild.
