My mosaic works combine porcelain and glass tiles, found objects, and smalti for vivid accents of color. I often begin with my own photographs, simplifying a scene to its most meaningful elements. These images, paired with my original artwork, guide the composition, but the final piece emerges through a hands-on, intuitive process.
Creating art is a meditative practice for me—one that brings calm and focus, along with the quiet thrill of excitement when a piece unfolds as I’d imagined. I often incorporate subtle shadows within my scenes to suggest people in motion or the movement of water. Color is also central to my work; through brightness and contrast, I aim to convey joy, energy, and a touch of whimsy. Together, these elements invite the viewer into the story, encouraging engagement beyond the static image and creating mosaics that feel inviting, thoughtful, and alive.
