On a whim, I signed up for my first mosaic class in the fall of 2019. As soon as I started piecing together the broken glass for my project, I felt an instant connection to the art form. The process of creating mosaic art is an interesting contradiction to me - both simple and complex, chaotic and calming, messy and ordered – all together deeply satisfying to my psyche.
I love sorting through my supplies and finding just the right pieces of broken glass, ceramic, beads and other objects to arrange and create something completely new. Every time I finish grouting a piece, I’m stunned to see the transformation the piece undergoes from the pre-grouted appearance.
